I’m excited to introduce you guys to a new(ish) swaddle from Halo, the SwaddleSure Adjustable Swaddling Pouch. This swaddle came out earlier this year, but I hadn’t heard of it until Halo contacted me to see if we’d like to test it out with Winnie. Sadly, I can tell it’s close to time to transition Winnie to an arms-out swaddle (cue the mama tears as she reaches another milestone), but we’ve been using the SwaddleSure by Halo for well over a month so I can share with you what we love about it.
First up, The SwaddleSure by Halo has a three-point fastening system that helps prevent babies from breaking out. You fold the left wing over the right wing, and then there’s two additional fastener straps that keep baby a little more secure (see below). The wings are also generously sized, which allows for a perfect, snug fit. With Winnie, so far so good. She hasn’t busted free yet!
Another feature that I love is the leg pouch. Since it’s roomy, it allows babies hips to stay in their natural frog-like position for healthy hip development. Also, the design allows for easy diaper access. There’s nothing I hate more than unswaddling a sleeping baby (or even half-asleep baby) at 2am to change their diaper, and with this swaddle you don’t have to – just fold down the pouch in the front, change their diaper, and then fold the pouch back up. No need to disturb your baby. A few other features that I have to mention is that the fabric is very soft (like your favorite comfy tee), and the velcro is less abrasive and less noisy than with other sleep sacks I’ve used in the past.
The SwaddleSure by Halo is available in two sizes – newborn (6-12 lbs) and small (13-16 lbs) and retails for $12.99.
